Scholarship Description: Chinese Government Scholarship program is established by the Ministry of Education of P.R. Criteria and Eligibility

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.

2. Education background and age limit:

- Applicants for undergraduate program must have senior high school diploma with good academic performance and be under the age of 25.

- Applicants for master’s degree program must have bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.

- Applicants for doctoral degree program must have master’s degree and be under the age of 40.

- Applicants for Chinese training program must have senior high school diploma and be under the age of 35, Chinese language is the only subject available.

- Applicants for general scholar program must have completed at least two years of undergraduate study and be under the age of 45, all subjects besides Chinese language are available.

- Applicants for senior scholar program must have master’s degree or above, or hold academic titles of associate professor or above, and be under the age of 50.

The Pakistan Mission to the United Nations in New York represents Pakistan at the United Nations Headquarters and its various agencies located in New York. The work is rigorous and diverse, requiring flexibility and long working hours.

Interns are involved in supporting the work of an officer and are guided by the officers in advancing Pakistan’s interests at the United Nations. An intern will need to develop a solid understanding of the positions and policies of the Government of Pakistan in the areas they are assigned to. As an intern, you may be required to cover various briefings at the UN Headquarters and to assist the concerned officer in conducting some background research on different issues. Note taking and reporting to the officers is one of the regular tasks that an intern performs at the Mission.

The internship program is a year round rolling recruitment process. Most interns come into the Mission while continuing their university studies. Eligible candidates can join in at any given month including the summer vacations.

We are particularly interested in candidates with academic qualifications in disciplines relating specifically to the international relations, political science, human rights and legal issues.

Eligibility:

The program is open to undergraduate and graduate students at US colleges and universities. We cannot accept applications from outside of the United States.

Eligibility

This competition is open to men and women who are from Pakistan or who are of Pakistani-origin (from any country). Applications will be accepted from individuals in academia, business, journalism, government, law, and related professions. Candidates must be currently pursuing research on key public policy issues facing Pakistan , research designed to bridge the gap between the academic and the policymaking worlds.

The Wilson Center customarily expects its visiting scholars to possess the terminal degree in their field. For academics, such as university professors, the terminal degree generally means a Ph.D. But other professions have different terminal degrees; for journalists or businesspeople, it could well be a B.A. In exceptional cases, the Wilson Center will waive the terminal degree requirement for highly qualified and unusually talented applicants. But under no circumstances will the Pakistan Scholar competition be open to anyone currently pursuing a graduate degree or working on a doctoral dissertation.

In addition, applicants must have at least eight years of professional or research experience. Preference will be given to applicants who have published scholarly books or substantial articles in academic or policy-related journals or newspapers.

Study or training must be undertaken in another country or territory where there are Rotary clubs. It cannot take place in the country of the sponsor Rotary district.
Although applicants are asked to list their preferred study locations, the Foundation Trustees reserves the right to make assignments to any suitable institution to ensure the widest possible geographical distribution of scholars. Candidates must be flexible in their study institution assignments.
Scholars will not be assigned to a city, state, or province where they have lived or studied for more than twelve months. As a result, these scholarships are not appropriate for students seeking to continue their studies at a given university.
Each scholar is responsible for applying directly to the assigned institution, gaining admission, obtaining required visas, and making travel arrangements. The scholarship may not be used in conjunction with a study-abroad program affiliated with a home-country institution.
Scholars must locate funds to cover all expenses that are not specifically financed by their scholarships or for which their scholarships are not sufficient. Scholarships will not be increased to cover spouses, dependents, or anyone other than the scholar.
Scholars may receive additional funding from other sources during the scholarship period, but the Foundation will not duplicate funds provided by these sources.
Depending on tax laws in the home and host countries, the scholarships may be partially or fully taxable. It is the scholar's responsibility to investigate tax regulations for scholarship funding.
Ambassadorial Scholarships may be used for almost any field of study but cannot be applied to unsupervised research, medical internships or residencies, or employment. Scholars planning to pursue medical studies are not permitted to engage in hands-on procedures or direct-care patient services during the scholarship period.
Any applicant whose native language is not that of the proposed country of study must submit evidence of the ability to read, write, and speak the language of that country. Candidates must also pass a language proficiency exam determined by the Foundation.

(JJ/WBGSP)- Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program

This scholarship is offered jointly by the World Bank and the government of Japan. It is intended for mid-career professionals from World Bank member countries. Since 2007, APU has been a Cooperating University with this scholarship, providing funding to students who wish to study in one of APU's International Cooperation Policy (ICP) Programs.

Eligibility

(1) Major Field of Study: The applicant must apply for one of APU's International Cooperation Policy (ICP) Programs, however, the IMAT Program does not qualify for this scholarship.

Eramus Mundus ME3 Master Scholarship 2011-2013

Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Category A :

•the EEA-EFTA states : Island, Liechtenstein and Norway.

In addition, to be eligible for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship Category A, candidates must not be residents of any of the 27 EU Member states and EEA-EFTA states ; and have not carried out their main activities (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in any of these countries.

Huygens Scholarship Programme, 2011

The prestigious Huygens Scholarship Programme is open to excellent students from all countries. It is aimed at talented students who want to come to the Netherlands in the final phase of their bachelor’s studies or during their master’s studies.

The Dutch Minister of Education, Culture and Science has allocated seven million euros for excellent students coming to the Netherlands under the Huygens Scholarship Programme. There is no fixed number of available scholarships. The actual number is determined by the total cost of the variable components of the scholarships.

PhD applications can only be accepted from excellent students with the Icelandic, Macedonian, Chinese, Croatian or Turkish nationality. Furthermore, the minister has allocated part of the total budget for excellent students following programmes in Dutch language and literature, or Neerlandistiek.

The Huygens Scholarship Programme is highly competitive. To illustrate this: for the 2011 scholarship round it is expected that out of approximately 1,700 applications only 150 candidates will be awarded a scholarship.

The Falak Sufi Scholarship 2011-12

The Falak Sufi Scholarship is to honor her memory and to support students from countries with a majority Islamic population in South Asia who might not otherwise be able to obtain a graduate education. These students, preferably female, will be enrolled in the two-year master’s program in Near Eastern Studies.

Eligibility and Award Criteria:

The formal prerequisite for application to the programme is a master’s degree in one of the disciplines represented at the Graduate School (see List of PIs), with ranking, where applicable, of above average (or German Magister or Diplom, with a grade of “very good”). Candidates are expected to submit an outline of the proposed dissertation project (maximum 6 pages, with a summary of no more than half a page), to include a short description of the topic, its relevance to the field, and its theoretical and methodological orientation, as well as a preliminary work schedule.

As English will be the primary language of communication, students are expected to have advanced English-language proficiency. In addition, students must demonstrate proficiency in the language(s) relevant to their projects. It is assumed that language skills can be improved during the course of the doctoral programme.

You should submit certified copies of:

your Abiturzeugnis (high school diploma, A-level, baccalauréat or IB) or your country’s equivalent document qualifying for admission to university
your Bachelor certificate
your Master certificate.
